Irving Institute for Energy and Society to analyze the financial viability and sustainability of different renewable energy storage technologies in New England. Advised by Jonathan Silverthorne and Angus McReynolds, I will analyze the practicality of fuel cells, battery storage, and pump storage options through a comprehensive research paper. This combines my interests in sustainability and finance.

Throughout this trip I immersed in a learning program in Dartmouth, West Virginia and Washington DC, exploring the cultural, historical, and economic dimensions of the coal industry and emphasizing the region's shift to cleaner energy sources. I engaged with diverse stakeholders, including energy producers, community organizations, and political leaders, to understand Appalachia's energy dynamics and challenges in transitioning away from coal, while actively contributing to critical exploration and advocacy for an equitable energy transition.

I applied to and was selected for a tuition-free scholarship to experience the US Brig Niagara – Erie, Pennsylvania’s famous 123-foot long tall ship as we travelled for two weeks from Erie, PA to Two Harbors, MN. This unique voyage allowed me to immerse myself in the environment and understand the importance of sustainability, climate change, and conservation as I focused on environmental issues of Lakes Erie, Huron, and Superior. Living on the boat in hammocks, preparing meals on the wood-fired stove, standing watch on duty in the dead of night, helping steer and anchor the boat in different ports, were all challenging group living experiences that taught me responsibility and leadership. Tending the helm with my fellow crewmates allowed me to value collaboration and communication while working together to complete common tasks, and being sure to do my part, splitting up shifts and creating a healthy, tranquil, friendly, and enjoyable experience. This experience helped solidify career goals and love for the environment, bringing a realization of the need to mitigate climate change throughout the Great Lakes region, and globally.

I was selected for a full scholarship through the National Science Foundation Institute of Arctic Studies Partnership for Polar Science Education in Greenland to participate in JSEP (Joint Science Education Project). I was one of thirty students from across America to represent Dartmouth College, and the United States on the global environmental stage. Students from Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the United States collaborated and studied the relation of iceberg calving to ice melange instability, sharing our project with hundreds of environmental activists, scientists, and professors.

I was selected as a full merit scholarship researcher to work alongside Professor Kasaraneni of Gannon University to analyze climate change and coastal lake pollution where I received lab and field experience in local waterways and laboratories along Lake Erie. This sparked my admiration for the Great Lakes and provided a unique perspective regarding conservation and environmental collegiate research.
