Building research-led customer data science products for the largest supermarket and grocery retailers globally. I am a TPO for a UI based data science platform to support assortment decisions and for a set of APIs which 3rd parties use to integrate internal platforms, apps and business processes with.• Converted the company to treat APIs as a product and began selling them as offerings to 3rd parties. 30% of orders now are requested via API and four new retail partners have joined us to directly use these API product offerings. • Took research level data science and successfully implemented APIs and a UX which decreases user journey time by 1/3, dramatically increased the total addressable market that may use our product and was the first cloud hosted machine learning data science APIs dunnhumby had.• Defined the user journey for the assortment prediction tool - fully owning the data science and user journey implementation for a new product offering. Then broke this down into a series of MVP epics (9 in total) that are small but expand the cover the main use cases first to provide feedback as we build. • Managed relationships with the data science research community within dunnhumby (to identify and define new applicable data science), with all internal and external users of our API product offerings, initially managed all Latin American markets and then moved to all APAC. The B2B product provides me with users I can speak to easily and hence focus on user value driven design.

Demonstrating viability of emerging technology (cognitive micro-services, analytics, blockchain). I built customised D3.js data visualisations for a FMCG company based from machine learning outputs; later I specialised as a Cognitive consultant performing at Senior Consultant level delivering a FOAK project - a cloud-based cognitive agent built on React and ML models, which received praise from both CEO's of IBM (Ginni Rometty) and the Managing Director of HBO RBS (Ian McLaughlin). I am one of 30 of the UK's most promising engineering leaders, according to the Royal Academy of Engineering, of my age. On this scheme I have been supported to do a range of activities to grow these capabilities including attending conferences, courses, programs and trips. With it, 5 of us organised a trip ourselves to San Francisco and Silicon Valley where we attended the Bloomberg Tech Conference and visited many companies in the area, including Google, Playground, Apple, Y combinator, Rocket Space and many more.

Winner of Formula Student UK 2017 - the first UK team ever to win FSUK. We also won 1st in Sprint, JLR's Virtual Engineering Award, Bosch's Braking System Award and Exxon Mobil's Innovation Award as well as top UK team in the Business Presentation event. Competing internationally, we placed 4th in FSCzech.If entering into my fifth and final year at university wouldn't be busy enough, my role in Cardiff Racing increased. Together with Luca Di Marino, we shared the Team Lead role; Luca represented the CTO aspect of the job where as I was the CEO. At Cardiff Racing, we design, build, manage, commercialize, organise, market, engage and race our own car which we build from scratch every academic year. In this role, I managed a team of 40 members and a budget of £30,000 to win FSUK, place 4th in FSCzech but also engage with approximately 20,000 through school visits and public events per year.

I was a student ambassador at Cardiff. I presented my experiences candidly from where I first lived, what societies I have been involved in, how I run formula student, my international semester and my third and fourth year projects. This has given me the opportunity to develop leadership skills, by giving tours around the mechanical engineering building and speaking publicly to prospective students on UCAS days, as well as be in a variety of publicity materials.

Creating engagement: organising lectures, representing engineering, being creative with events and aiding in running events.

I have experienced many projects, developing new skills and expanding my knowledge closely associated with Medical Engineering and Transportation Design, while also being heavily invested in the two aforementioned areas. Working here is inspiring. Throughout my first year I have indulged in every opportunity I have been given. I recognized that Cardiff Racing - the formula student team in my university - is not exclusive to third and fourth years like many other teams and hence pursued the interests I had. Now in my second year my commitment has been rewarded and I am now the Head of Sponsorship and Engagement. With this role I lead discussions with potential sponsors and partners, set up publicity events and engagement opportunities - especially with school visits which with in the team we all feel passionately about - as well as create the publicity materials. I will also be involved with the business part of the event bring all that I have learned from before to the competition.This position challenges me and has made me adapt. I have had no formal business education and so have had to learn by doing. I have grown my attributes which I believe got me the position in the first place and made some more as well. I am a good communicator and find this skill invaluable in this position and have gained computer skills with regards to design.

I found the HSSMI when I visited Ford's Blagdon facility. During a lunch break I began talking to many people and I gained a real interest for the work the HSSMI did. Hence I pursued this and was offered work experience. While working at the HSSMI, I worked with many different people, on a variety of topics; from research proposals to creating a new brand scheme for cenex's Low Carbon Vehicle event which I attended in October and then creating a 'roadmap' of research funding streams within the UK, how to access it, who is involved and the complex affiliations hence gaining me a thorough understanding of Technology Readiness Level 3 to TRL6 landscape in high value manufacturing. I also worked on virtual engineering solutions for Ford and Jaguar Land Rover. They challenged my creative problem solving skills with specific business objectives to be considered. For example I was asked to draft an idea of how to improve the work flow for the virtual engineering processes - which they liked and accepted and allowed me to train a new starter with my work flow.
