Commissioned Officer within the RAF. A diverse and rewarding career. Starting as a Weapons Technician, he received 2 awards during basic training and was singled out for his leadership potential from the outset. Harnessing this potential, he planned, organised and delivered, a complex project in addition to his engineering studies. This work earned him an award from the RAF Senior Leadership Team. Continuing his efforts to continually self improve, he successfully applied to become a commissioned officer. where he served as an Aerospace Battle Manager and completed a tour of the Falkland Islands. During this posting he was involved with project Guardian. The name given to the upgrade of the equipment used in the UKs defensive radar network.He then took a position as the Head of the RAF Presentations team, where he strategically engaged with stakeholders and influencers both domestically and internationally. From Royal Households through to International high commissions, he led the team in delivering key messaging to critical, large audiences. Most recently, he operates as a Troop Commander of 30+ individuals. Overseeing daily output as well as the diverse needs of his team. This time was spent with 49 Bty Royal Artillery who operate the GAMB radar. Alex was involved in operation and use of this equipment as well as consulting on the GAMB upgrade program, to help ensure the future capability of the radar was fitting for modern day provision of combat situational awareness.
