This position allowed me to oversee everything from physician-as-educator chalk talks, clinic workflow proposals, clinic night managing, monthly meeting scheduling and heading, leadership training events and recruitment, assisting all clinical inter-professional disciplines, qualitative and quantitative research surrounding the educational development of volunteers, helping to organize and relay medical director letters of recommendation, realize projects such as scholarships, grants, or patient comforts, and much more.

As a Nurse workgroup leader, I performed IV blood draws, physical assessments, patient triage (vitals, chief complaint, risk scores, etc.), aid the process behind (and being integral in) assessing, diagnosing, and planning care for a patient, organizing the high-risk community outreach program, and more. DAWN serves the under-served, which includes those without any way to pay for necessary medications or obtain insurance; every patient is unique with extremely diverse complications and needs. My other priorities included the management of all emails and clinic scheduling for the nursing section of the DAWN clinic. I also assisted all inter-professional disciplines with potential complications, such as training new workers, and maintaining a smooth operational workflow.

Much like a TA or SI position, this role allowed me to aid in the educational development of the Junior students. I helped create and lead in-depth study sessions covering all of the major courses from pharmacology to pathophysiology, with anywhere from 10-50 attendees each session. I was also assigned a dedicated group of 6 students, which I helped individually tutor and guide. Additionally, I developed coursework for these Junior classes during the online COVID transition, and created educational SIM/CEC briefings and demonstrations. Being a peer mentor solidified my passion for teaching, and further refined my leadership skills.

This position allowed me to make a massive impact in the wellbeing and educational equity of both the Junior and Senior nursing students at Anschutz. Some of the council's many impacts included: -Uniquely creating and selling roughly 120-150 CU class scrub jackets yearly, profiting $15000+ (depending on margin) for future school projects and events. -Acquiring public speakers for educational panels, ranging from clinical preparation to resume building and more; 5-10 per year with 50+ attendees each.-Aiding in the bridging of student/representative concerns and project or event construction.

I served to be the voice for my class and contributed to the ongoing evaluation processes of the undergraduate course shells. This included everything from syllabus organizing and rewriting to the analysis, synthesis, and implementation of mandatory learning objectives.

This entailed my attendance to all class lectures, as well as my setting up of personal study sessions ranging from 1-6+ people. These were permanent study sessions that the same group attended once per week. I also helped these students during private one-on-one tutoring sessions. I've gained an incredible level of leadership as I managed group learning sessions and facilitated dialogue between students and the professor.
