I led a research project exploring the role of spinal neural circuits in postural control. I designed custom behavior rigs, electronics hardware, and computer programs to carry out my experiments. I additionally mentored undergraduate researchers, TA'd courses, and regularly prepared both written summaries and presentations of my work.

Probed for speed-tuned neurons in the primary visual cortex using in vivo multi-unit recording and a grated visual stimulus varying by combinations of frequency and width.

Developed a chronic EMG recording method and markerless paw tracking software. Used a lever press assay to test the correlation of EMG, video tracking, and lever position. Designed custom circuitry for behavior testing.

I insured the lab was stocked with common supplies and placed orders for all lab purchases. I negotiated with vendors for high-value purchases. I managed undergraduate employees and assisted with experiments where needed.

I developed a light-activated drug delivery system using transgenic cells containing a photosensitive translational switch. I also designed a new method for measuring heme content using UV/Visual spectroscopy.

I studied lymphangiogenesis and lymphedema in rodent models of breast cancer-associated lymphectomies. I also studied lymphatic endothelial cell growth and migration on artificial fibrous surfaces and designed a stent to assist in vivo lymphatic regeneration.

I studied long-term modifications in sympathetic nervous system regulation through modulation of ion channels in the paraventricular nucleus in high salt diet and heavy alcohol consumption models.
