I’m a career switcher, an autodidact and I believe in lifelong learning.During my sabbatical year in 2021, I decided to change gear and after working for 5 years in the automotive industry, I started learning web development through a self-taught path.By realizing multiple bigger and smaller projects I’ve learned many different web technologies. For example, through the implementation of a social network platform, I’ve acquired knowledge on Node.js and on setting up a well-structured backend following the Model-View-Control design pattern. Also, I’ve got familiar with managing data with MongoDB and how to store user credentials using state-of-the-art encryption methods.My skills with WebSockets for direct communication and ReactJS for a modern frontend application I showcased by implementing an online board game that is published and running on http://playtac.herokuapp.com. On top of that, I’ve also gained experience in using Python on the backend and in PostgreSQL as a RDBMS by implementing a simple CRUD application to track the latest Falcon9 launches of SpaceX (http://djangofalcon9.herokuapp.com).I’m Alex.
