After studying pharmaceutical and chemical engineering at Beuth University, I transitioned to biotechnology and graduated with a Master of Science degree from TU Berlin.During my studies I worked for several years at Algenol Biofuels, which sparked my interest in smart and sustainable applications of science.I am currently a PhD student at Fraunhofer IZI-BB in Potsdam-Golm, where I am investigating cell-free and cell-based synthesis and characterization of transporter proteins.Since our brains have evolved to recognize and think in terms of utility, I am convinced that science is ultimately a tool that expands human horizons and opens up new possibilities.
