Born in the USA, Alexander spends half his life in Europe and the other half in the US. In the past, he has managed corporations and was project and engineering manager with top Fortune 500 and several start-up companies.In 2010, he joined Ascend Electronics Inc., a US-based company with manufacturing in North-Americas. He held a position as CTO on the company’s BOD and was Vice President of Marketing and Development until 2017. In February 2017, he was nominated as President of Ascend Electronics, which is still his current position. Since 2011, he is also the President of the Small Form Factor Special Interest Group (SFF-SIG) based in Santa Clara, California. The SFF-SIG is an international non-profit standards body focused on modular computer hardware technologies, used in embedded and small form factor computers and controllers. Members are mainly computer board and component manufacturers.January 2020, Alexander became a member of the Board of Directors and was nominated as Business and Finance Coordinator of TreeCentage, a non-profit organization working on improving the environment and forests in the USA.Alexander worked on three continents Europe, Asia, and North America and bring to the table over thirty years of expertise in developing and managing development of electronic systems and components. He directed major projects from application specifications to production, marketing and finally market introduction, and was involved with many activities leading to new innovations and patents. During the last ten years, Alexander specialized in building teams, developing talents and combining cool technology with solid business results. In addition, he holds a few financial service licenses as Principal Underwriter with the SEC and NASD and managed and supervised financial service agents and transactions from different Financial Broker Firms. Prior to settling in Silicon Valley, California, Alexander studied Electronic Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and held engineering and managing positions in Switzerland. He also served as an officer in the Swiss Military and commanded a heavy mechanized infantry unit.During his 36 years of his professional career, Alexander utilized his proven background, general management skills, natural leadership, and team-building ability to achieved success in both small and large companies. With his energy and desire to develop strategic plans, and execution, he generated solid results in a rapidly growing environment.
