2008 Golf Tourism Scotland Young Person of the Year Wentworth trained greenkeeper, Elmwood Student of the Year 1997. Worked on the East course at Wentworth for 6 years, working to the highest possible standards and also preparing the West and South courses for 15 televised World/European Tour events.Moved back home to work at Royal Dornoch. Fantastic job working on quite possibly the finest golf course ever made. Spent 3 years learning the Links ways of the job and love the way in which links greenkeeping is without doubt the truest form of the job. Moved on to Golspie Golf Club as Head Greenkeeper. The course has been completely revamped, with some holes changed and a complete bunker renovation program undertaken. Greens have been continually improved, with a focus on introducing more native Bent and Fescue grasses. The course has gone from the reserve list of courses in the official Scottish Top 100 to highest new entry at 69 in 2011. Rated the 54th best links in the UK by National Club Golfer for 2013 and number 69 for Uk courses under £100. Also now rated 22nd in UK and Ireland's Top 100 for courses under £70. We've been working to one of the smallest budgets in the North and still produce surfaces to rival anything in the area. Golf world had us in at 54 in their list of Scottish courses for 2015. Would love to get in to Golf Course Architecture. I've always been passionate about links course design and especially renovating areas and bringing them up to today's very high standards.I play golf and I'm currently off a handicap of +2. My home club is Royal Dornoch where I've been a member for over 25 years now. If I'm not working on a golf course then I'm usually playing. I am also a PGA Qualified coach and teach our junior section at Golspie weekly. This is a great way to give something back to the game that's given me so much.Looking out for a new challenge and willing to consider any offers/invites.
