An ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (Sydney Node) Laboratory Manager.This leadership position involves a wide range of responsibilities from mentoring junior scientists to ensuring smooth day to day operation of the research lab as well as the optimising, maintenance and troubleshooting of a variety of scientific equipment. Such equipment includes analytical and preparative HPLC instruments, UHPLC-MS, automated solid phase peptide synthesisers and more.

We use our peptide libraries to explore the chemical landscape for novel peptide therapeutics that could be used to treat a wide variety of diseases ranging from COVID-19 to certain types of cancer.New funding from the ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science have allowed us to utilise our expertise in total chemical synthesis to investigate the utilisation of venoms from certain Australian monotremes and marsupials.

Performing hands on troubleshooting/maintenance of high-field NMR spectrometers as well as training new users to run advanced NMR experiments and running experiments for external clients.

Teaching of undergraduate laboratory classes and maintenance of safe working environments for students conducting experiments in the laboratory.
