As a Deputy Director Engineering worked closely with the Director Engineering and assisted in directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating activities and operations within the organization by managing several teams and provided technical and administrative support to the Director of Engineering in development process of two infrastructure Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management (UTM) systems: - "BAS test site" - test site for testing and certification of unmanned air transport; - "RUTM1" - a digital system for the organization of safe air traffic of UAVs and manned aircraft in the common airspace.I was directly responsible for the development of several specific ground subsystems by a distributed team of up to 80+ engineers (Saint-Petersburg + Moscow) including development and approval of system and certification requirements, high-level requirements development, design, SW & HW engineering, software development and integration.Also managed several subcontractors and visited their offices on a regular basis to comply with quality targets and pace of execution.

Development of Air Traffic Control (ATC) automated system with A-SMGCS Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) functions.Performing work of maintaining the operational readiness of the unified ATC systems "SYNTEZ" (Vnukovo (VKO), Sochi (AER), Khabarovsk(KHV) , Vladivostok (VVO) airports).Equipping the St. Petersburg’s center of the unified air traffic management system with a test module of the airspace planning automation system.Upgrade and certification of the ATC of the unified series "SYNTEZ" systems according to "General technical requirements to the settings of functioning of the ATC, training complexes and complexes for documentation and reproduction of information in the transition to the use of pressure reduced to sea level on the standard atmosphere QNH".

Achievement:The first in Russia Remote and Virtual Tower (RVT) system developed and certified. Branch up and management.Responsibilities:Remote branch foundation in St. Petersburg. Management of branch up to 60+ engineers.Member of EUROCAE WG-100 Remote and Virtual Tower (RVT) working group.Managed development of the Remote Air Traffic Control Tower system.In addition, as part of product promotion: - Necessary modifications for industry-specific national standards were developed and successfully published - Closely interacted with stakeholders - Federal Agency for Air Transport and State Air Traffic Management Corporation - Participation with developed system in industry-specific international and national exhibitions

Led the software development and verification team that prepared multiple avionics products for the certification by the FAA (US Federal Aviation Administration), all of which were then successfully certified according to DO-178B standard and approved for operation. The following products are currently deployed and used on the respective aircrafts: - EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) for the Boeing 777 - EFB for Boeing 787 - EFB SP (Single Processor for Astro Israel) - EFB NEXIS (NexGen Flight-Intelligence System) - CDTI (Astronautics Cockpit Display of Traffic Information) - UACDTI (Universal Astronautics Cockpit Display of Traffic Information) - FMS (Flight Management System) for Pilatus, CP140, C747, Agusta A119, Agusta A109, L100, G3.The work of my team included building systems for stress and resilience testing of complex software components, covering the full range from the Linux kernel (low-level) to OpenGL-based user interface.All of these development and verification tasks done in accordance with DO-178B standard:- development/rework of OS kernel (based on Linux kernel), GLIBC, drivers, services and applications- development of Robustness and Partitioning Tests- development of Unit Level Tests- Coverage AnalysisMy role grew from a software engineer and team lead in the first couple of years to senior software engineering manager responsible for the full development cycle later on.Team size: up to 24 (2002-2008), up to 45 (2008-2014).
