I effectively developed and managed trusted relationships with a portfolio of external stakeholders across New Zealand’s South Island, including: industry associations, businesses (including NZX 50 companies), local authorities and government departments. I assisted stakeholders to understand a complex regulatory system, policy changes and investment decisions in a language and narrative that is easily understood and relatable. I used my engagements to provide the TEC with insights into the key challenges and concerns of external stakeholders to inform and contribute to better decision making, delivering mutual success for stakeholders and TEC. Key achievements: • Widened the TEC’s South Island stakeholder base by 70-80% over a two-year period providing new insights and collaboration opportunities to the organisation. • Drove and designed a major relationship agreement with a strategically important stakeholder that improves the TEC’s alignment to key cross-government commitments. • Assisted with the TEC’s response to COVID-19, contributing to Board discussions and providing external stakeholder perspectives to scenario planning.

I was responsible for the day-to-day contract and relationship management between the TEC and a caseload of Private Training Establishments (PTEs) with an annual portfolio investment of $15 million. Key responsibilities included, assessing and recommending funding allocations, monitoring performance and outcomes, and facilitating new opportunities.
