Responsible for building the front-end interface using a Angular 2 and TypeScript based stack.

After moving up to a Professional Developer position I continue to lead and own initiatives on the Laterooms platform.Further responsibilities include bringing junior or new members of the team up to speed as soon as possible. The sooner they can make real contributions to the project the better. I am currently heavily involved in prototyping and re-building large projects for the platform using technologies such as React.js, Redux and Webpack on the front-end and Node on the backend. As a team we continue to innovate the platform for the user.

At Laterooms, the single web platform team, including myself, look after the customer facing laterooms.com web application. The application, powered by Node.js, not only serves the front-end of the site, but also integrates with the numerous Lateroom’s APIs. The application receives traffic from thousands of people every day. Daily activities include:- Writing clean, structured and readable code. At Laterooms we constantly peer review each other’s code before it is pushed to the live environment. Almost all of the code I write at Laterooms is javascript.- Using a wide array of client and server side javascript packages and libraries. We are currently using Node.JS to power our application.- Ensuring all production code is tested. When small errors can cost huge amounts of money it is important that all the code is as solid as it can possibly be.- Pair programming.- Delivering new features and pages.- Ensuring the core Laterooms journey is as user friendly as possible. With the UX team we are continuously criticising the user journey and improving it whenever possible.- SEO. The site is constantly scrutinised by an internal team of SEO experts. We work with them to ensure that the site is as SEO friendly as possible

As a front-end developer I integrated into our in-house RESTful APIs to create high quality interfaces for our customers. Our team looked after everything from the APIs onwards including the PHP, Javascript and HTML layers of the application. This included writing object-orientated PHP and Javascript with user simplicity and functionality constantly in mind.The entire of the front-end layer was created from scratch in-house and was maintained and improved by our team on a daily basis. I was personally responsible for building new features and maintaining all of the current functionality of the site. A huge part of this was test-driving as much of the code as possible, using methods such as TDD and BDD. This also included end-to-end tests which were done with the selenium framework. Codeweavers is an AGILE company with a primary focus being on continuous integration. Changes are continuously pushed to a live environment, meaning we could add features and fix any issues or bugs on the platform as soon as possible.

TKStarley is an award winning web-agency based in the midlands. During my time at TKStarley I have developed high quality websites and E-Commerce platforms for a number fof SME's based throughout the UK. I worked with clients in the development of their sites, ensuring a high standard of functionality and design.
