I am a highly motivated, passionate, and caring computer engineer. I love working with all layers of the information technology stack, from the circuit level to the software level. With over 15 years of experience working with computers and electronics, as well as my academic background, I feel that I have a broad range of knowledge with which to draw from to make me a very effective team member, wherever I am.I strive to operate with a highly analytical and rational mind, while doing my best to avoid confrontation and work effectively with others. I do my best to inject humor into every conversation to create a joyful and engaging working environment. I also strongly believe in lifting up others and contributing as much as I possibly can when I work on a team. I would do anything for my teammates. When managing others or a project, I am as honest and direct as possible. When I was in a management position, my management philosophy started with treating those who reported to me as professional adults and people, not machines. That meant prioritizing their needs above all else and setting them up for success with anything they were working on; much in line with the concept of Servant Leadership. I sincerely enjoy seeing people use skills I taught them to succeed, knowing that I was able to make an impact on their lives. I have forged strong friendships and amazing mentoring relationships as a result of my management style, and I expect to continue this philosophy into my next management position (whenever that may come).I have had to overcome many obstacles and challenges in my life to get to where I am today, but my passion for computer engineering never wavered and only grew as I aged. I knew from a very young age that I would work with computers and I studied computer engineering specifically because I knew it would provide me with the greatest ability to contribute as much as I can to this field. I know that I am where I am today because of the support of others, so I am always looking to pay it forward if I can help someone avoid any pitfall that I experienced.I am currently focused on developing my skills as an embedded software engineer. With my previous background being IT, it has been a challenge transitioning to embedded software development, but I am growing significantly with both my technical knowledge and as a professional. I am excited for what the future holds and cannot wait to see what opportunities appear on the horizon!
