About Alexander Ring
I hold a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, where Ispecialized in various space technologies, including rover systems, re-entry, orbital mechanics,and the design and production of aerospace vehicles. My master’s thesis at the German AerospaceCentre (DLR) involved developing a structural satellite component, partly made from AM materials,which enhances the re-entry behavior of design-for-demise satellites. This work led to a filed patentand co-authorship in a publication. As a working student at DLR, I gained hands-on experience inthermal simulations, space test procedure protocols and runs, as well as designing and buildingground support equipment for a rocket test launch. As a research assistant, I conducted over 500numerical simulations of multiphase drop-drop collisions using a CFD code, and developed anautomation process with Python and Excel that streamlined job creation and processing, boostingefficiency by 95%. My technical skills include MATLAB, Siemens NX, and Ansys, complementedby experience in 3D-printing and numerical simulation. Growing up in a bilingual family, alongwith my study abroad semester at the National Taiwan University, has sharpened my ability toadapt to multicultural environments and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Additionally, myinternship at Porsche as well as my work at DLR have provided invaluable experience in workingwithin a large corporate structure, where I learned the importance of teamwork and coordination.
