As independent engineer, I offer the following engineering services: - planners (all phases)- publicly appointed and sworn expert for tunnel ventilation and tunnel aerodynamics- engineering work in the fields: fluid mechanics / CFD, thermodynamics, energy and climate technology I usually work as a subcontractor of major engineering firms. Smaller projects, such as tender support for construction companies or expert activities, I perform directly. Riyadh

The RMTC acts as "The Engineer" on behalf of the Riyadh Development Authority (RDA). As such, it manages and controls the planning and construction activities of the largest of the three contractors, BACS. My role is to act as the lead for the Tunnel Ventilation for the lines 1 and 2. My main contribution was my commitment to increase passenger safety in tunnel and station events. In particular, I have asserted that the required time of tenability covers the entire duration of the rescue process.

My main contribution as a ventilation engineer during the short time at Gruner is the optimization of the general project for the 2nd tube of the Gotthard road tunnels.My proposals were accepted by the client ASTRA as a basis for the detailed project. They will lead to savings in the order of several 10 million Swiss francs.Besides that I have planned a number of ventilation systems for smaller road tunnels.

Business development of the discipline tunnel ventilation and aerodynamics for ILF Consulting Engineers worldwide. Besides providing methods and tools to the company and training to collegues, my main achievements as tunnel ventilation engineer was the ventilation design (all phases to tender) of the Bosrucktunnel, the Wienerwaldtunnel and the 710 gap closure. There was a large numer of smaller ventilation projects as well as the continuation of the development of NUMSTA, my PhD topic, with other specialists.

In this time, I worked mainly on the Lötschberg Basistunnel (final ventilation and equipment phase ventilation). Particularly interesting was the adiabatic cooling for the equipment phase with a cooling capacity of 15 MW through the targeted and distributed spraying of water via high-pressure nozzles and a corresponding air guidance and air quantity measurement.Compared to the conventional solution with refrigerators, this resulted in significant cost savings and improved logistics.In addition to the project work I worked on the development of computing tools, publications as well as the training of junior engineers.

Gawthorpe (British Rail Research) - Refurbishment of Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Bank Station - Ventilation of Pulaya Seraya Tunnel for Singapore Power

Near Berlin, Germany

Our 8 CPU Pentium IV (1.7GHz) cluster (including 4 workstations with world-class graphics) was considered a reference project by IBM Germany, with whom we attended Linux conferences. We were thus able to compete with the well-established car manufacturers and at that time carried out CFD calculations for the giant airship with> 10 million cells.Unfortunately the company CargoLifter went into insolvency in 2002.

Hennigsdorf, Brandenburg, Deutschland

Our team with aerodynamic engineers from Daimler and Porsche were the first to perform numerical train aerodynamics in anindustrial environment. We won an internal company competition and brought the competence center Aero- and Thermodynamics to Hennigsdorf. Our main projects were the ICE3, the Transrapid 08 and the regional trains of Adtranz (Crusaris). In addition to the remarkably detailed high-resolution hexahedral calculation networks, we have developed a flexible CFD model for the air conditioning of the coaches. My computer program NUMSTA® was used to predict pressure fluctuations in the cars on the high-speed line Cologne-Frankfurt. While at ADtranz, I was a member of ATG, a company-wide exchange group of academic staff.
