The University of Connecticut is developing a virtual replica of its campuses on the game platform Roblox.As a member of this project, I am responsible for enhancing existing systems and developing new features. Key contributions include:- Redesigning and optimizing the player datastore, server-side backend, and user interface.- Developing a new client-side interface controller to improve user experience.- Building a central hub game to organize and manage different places (maps) under the main experience.- Implementing a custom interactions system using the integrated ProximityPrompts service.- Designing and developing a virtual dorm editing system to enhance in-game customization.I focus on improving performance, user engagement, and scalability within the game environment through these tasks.
