About Alexander Schiendorfer

I am a research professor working on artificial intelligence, operations research and machine learning applications based on problems in industrial and engineering settings. That includes deep learning approaches on PLC data (generally applications on the shop floor), applications of learning and optimization to CAD/CAM, combinatorial optimization in MiniZinc as well as the potential of geometric deep learning / graph neural nets for applications in manufacturing.My doctoral research focused on modeling soft constraints in discrete optimization problems. That's what we do at http://minibrass.isse.de based on scientific foundations in optimization, social choice theory and modeling languages.
