Hi, my name is Alexander “Lex” Shaffer and I am from Farmington, West Virginia. Currently, I am the Sports Information Director at Glenville State University. During my time at Glenville State, our athletics website went through a redesign which was under my direction. Also while at GSU I had the honor to stat the 2022 Atlantic Women’s Regional Basketball Tournament. My current duties as SID consist of stating home events, writing press releases, maintaining the GSU website, making graphics for social media, and running the GSU social media accounts for all 18 varsity sports.Before Working at Glenville State I was an assistant in the sports information department at Fairmont State. While at FSU my position entailed helping with gameday operations, learning Stat Crew and NCAA LiveStats statistics software, distributing stat files, and running live streams. During a transition period in between sports information directors, I was the interim sports information director.This summer I graduated a year early from West Virginia University. While attending WVU I had an internship every semester until reaching graduation and finished school with a 3.2 GPA.
