HelloMy name is Alexander Simmons. I moved to Jacksonville from the DC metro area, (Manassas,Virginia) where I worked at Shapiro Brown & Alt, a financial law firm. I started working there part time just to box up old files, but they loved my work ethic so much that they brought me on full time as a clerk. My responsibilities were identical to your firm's requirements. I started out every morning running a report through MS Excel on which files were closed, then I go throughout the office to retrieve them and then box them up, after that I ship them off site. Then I search through foreclosure cases to see which of them qualify for a dismissal, I usually get about 15 a day. I then draft up the document for the dismissal, order a check for the dismissal fee, present it to an attorney and mail the dismissal to the courts and associated parties. After the courts send the signed copy of the dismissal I update our records on when it was sent and we received it. I was also often asked to help out in other areas of the office such as mail and preparing certified documents such as notification of intent to sell. I absolutely loved my job and the only reason I left was because I was homesick and wanted to be back in Florida. I took a temporary job as a file clerk at Fulmer, Leroy, Albee, and Baumann handling multiple responsibilities. Now I am currently working at NCC Business Services, where I am working as a compliance Specialist.
