Had my internship at Morgan Stanley during a placement year between my second and third year of university. The experience was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed working here. It involved two rotations: one in MSJava - Morgan Stanley's core Java group that lives withing EAI, developing and maintaining libraries to be leveraged throughout the firm - and Product Control - an app dev team where I worked with multiple bespoke systems and developed predominantly in full-stack products.

Being able to work in a fast-paced and very demanding environment was essential and possessing good multi-tasking skills helped me to succeed here. I was often entrusted to operate the pub by myself during the slow hours which forces you to be attentive and matures your decision making.

In this work I lead groups of children aged 4 – 14 and take them through various challenging activities, including Quad-Biking, High-Ropes, Archery and Paintballing, to help improve their team-building skills and personal confidence. Due to this work, I have site-specific qualifications in instructing the more dangerous activities such as the Quad-Biking and High-Ropes.
