After going to school for three years to become an engineer, I found my passion in rapid prototyping, moving to learn as much as I could about industrial design, additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, laser cutting, and brainstorming. Working with the Innovation Lab at the University of Notre Dame, I was able to assist several entrepreneurs in making their ideas a reality, with one group going on to receive funding just recently in San Francisco. Ever since then I have been working for the USU IT Labs, managing their 3D printers and growing the area to fit my own vision. Since I have joined the area has more than doubled in size and printers, while adding high quality scanners, print polishing and drawing tablet stations, a recording studio, and a VR studio for students and faculty to experiment with and unleash their creativity.I have proven to myself that I am very driven when I have a goal in mind, whether that be expanding the scope of a department to teaching myself high level CAD software. I have dabbled in Freelance cosplay design and freelance industrial design, both of which I sacrificed for higher education. Currently I am working with another friend of mine on a games company known as Starskipper Games, with the focus of delivering high quality board and tabletop roleplaying games for a lower cost using 3D printing and locally sourced companies as the backbone of our operation. All of these endeavors show that I am determined to learn whatever skills necessary in order to accomplish my goals.In education, I take every opportunity to make the most of my time in college. On top of working with the USU IT Labs I am a UTF (Undergraduate Teaching Fellow) for another professor, one who I am working with to test a new career teaching emphasis, requiring me to take another 18 credits to achieve this certification. I have experience with engineering, product design, technology education, and team management thanks to my time in higher education.
