Travelling has always been a big part of my life; I have been to places like Sri Lanka doing charity work, Dubai, The Netherlands, Germany and I even took part of the camp leaders program in the US. In the US I was a group leader at an over night summer camp where I responsible for 40 children and managed counsellors. It was a lot of hard work and long hours, but it helped me grow my organisational skills and my patience, and it is one of the most memorable experiences on my life. I have been in hospitality for a number of years, and with it being one of the fastest and busiest industries out there, I learned and developed my skill set a lot. Both being a waiter and a chef has helped me improve and learn a wide array of new skills, such as time management, people skills, adapting under pressure and being able to remain calm in a high stress environment. I now want to use my consolidated skills in new and exciting environments, and take new risks.I have recently taken the time to achieve qualifications in order to improve myself in key areas. To name a few, communication in a work environment, document production, business administration tasks, developing working relationships and employer organisations. I thoroughly enjoyed learning these new skills, and I can’t wait to put them to use.I have always loved being part of a team, and one the best ways I did this was by being Chair of the Stevenage Youth Council. It was always very satisfying seeing all of the hard work put in coming through with excellent results, such as events for local primary schools, and our annual conference for secondary schools. The specific event I ran was about mental health, and it felt amazing helping people with workshops and activities to help them learn and understand new things about mental health.
