For the past 17 years, I have had the pleasure of working for Jefferson County Schools. I began my career teaching elementary students for seven years. After completing my administrative degree at Shenandoah University, I accepted a leadership role in the attendance department. In 2019, I transitioned to the Office of Social and Emotional Support, while maintaining the title, Coordinator of At Risk Educational Programs. During my time spent as an educational leader, I have had the honor of being published in BrightBytes magazine for my work with students experiencing adverse experiences. In 2019 I had the distinct privilege of being the keynote speaker at Shepherd University for the United States Department of State, where I shared about my work with families experiencing homelessness with leaders from thirteen other nations.For two years, I taught students in China how to speak English in my role as an online EL instructor. I have also been teaching myself Spanish over the course of the past 24 months. Ask me about my impressive Duolingo streak!
