I work on a small "Lab Characterization" team, primarily testing/characterizing new designs for the Secure Computing Group. We design specialized, novel tests for small runs (~50 ) of parts, supplementing the role of our Automated Test Equipment Engineers. We do the more precise testing of primarily analog circuits to ensure good performance and validate design simulations. We also act as the first line of firefighters for customer-observed issues, troubleshooting released parts to characterize obscure issues. Our results are compiled into JMP reports for Design to review.We primarily develop in LabVIEW, using PXIe chassis to run parts in oil baths for temperature control.This role is the same as my previous role of Engineer I - Product, I've just been promoted for my experience and performance.
