Assistant Budget Director
CurrentSupervises and manages a group of four budget analysts in developing and reviewing departmental budget submissions within the Criminal Justice and Public Safety areas (over $525 million annually);Oversees the calculations of personnel compensation and benefits costs, including pay scale changes, health plan design changes, and fringe benefits for over 5,500 classified and peace officer employees;Coordinates the development of the budget calendar, forms, resources, manuals, documents and systems to execute the annual budget process;Prepares the weekly Budget Amendments & Transfers agenda item for approval by Commissioners Court;Reviews and provides analysis on grant applications, personnel adjustments, and other agenda items which are before County Commissioner’s Court;Coordinates the annual review of County fees and adoption of fee updates by the Commissioner’s Court;Monitors departmental operating budgets and calculates monthly expenditure and revenue projections;Assists in departmental performance management by establishing performance measures and recommendations;Prepares summaries and analysis on budgetary questions from County management, Commissioner’s Court and the public.
