I am a drilling engineer who works with Aker BP Drilling and Wells Digitalization to develop digital systems that will become an integral part of how Aker BP Drilling and Wells teams work.I believe that digitalization is an important building block to fulfill Aker BP’s vision to create the leading offshore independent exploration and production (EP) company. More specifically, aim to develop and use digital technology across the entire E and P value chain to improvesafety, productivity, flexibility, and scalability and reduce costs, process lead-time, and environmental impact. Today, we have many large and complex computational tools, databases, and work processes in all areas of the business (including those of our strategic partners) that are often stand-alone systems. In the future, these must work together seamlessly in an automated and iterative process with a user-friendly man-machine interface, also called artificial intelligence.I am the focal point for Aker BP in coordinating and leading the development of the “Digital Well Program” with Halliburton Landmark. The goal of this project is to establish an efficient, lean, and standardized well-planning process, including the subsurface, well engineering, scheduling, cost estimation, logistics, and operational planning elements. This work is a key part of delivering the Aker BP vision of moving from a situation where a well can be planned in three months to being able to plan a well in a day. The Digital Well Program will incorporate software tools and processes for the digitalization, management, and execution of the well-planning workflows identified by Aker BP.Prior to the position at Aker BP, I have conducted research assignments for the petroleum industry.
