During my internship, I was amazed by the complexities of ship engines and the required maintenance. I worked closely with experienced engineers and technicians, learning from them and actively participating in the maintenance process. My primary responsibilities included regular observation of the engine's functions to detect downtime, ensuring parts were in good condition, and replacing malfunctioning or worn-out parts.I was fascinated by the number of tools and equipment used in ship engine repairs. One of the most memorable moments during my internship was when we had to dismantle a ship engine. It was an elaborate process that required expertise and attentiveness. The feeling of accomplishment after disassembling the engine and successfully identifying the faulty parts was incredible.Through this experience, I learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and attention to detail in marine engineering. I could also apply the knowledge gained from my engineering courses to real-world scenarios, broadening my technical skills. Overall, my experience at the ship dry dock was invaluable. It provided me with a deeper understanding of marine engineering and a new appreciation for the work involved in keeping ships functional and safe. It also solidified my passion for pursuing a career in this field.
