Hey! I'm Alex, a Utility Designer at Davey Resource Group and a graduate from the University of Rochester. I'm passionate about utilizing data analytics to answer questions and provide solutions.I have a B.S. in Environmental Science with minors in Digital Media Studies and Psychology. My diverse education has revealed the importance of leveraging both the technical and creative aspects of data... Analyzing data to solve problems and visualizing that data to communicate a message. Environmental Science allowed me to develop technical skills in Matlab, R, ArcGIS Pro, and Excel. Digital Media Studies and Psychology provided avenues to present data using UI/UX principles, consumer psychology, and effective communication. My current role at Davey involves a complex design process that required me to learn several new programs and systems efficiently, including SPIDAcalc, Katapult, AutoCAD, and GIS. Within 6 months, I went from learning the process from scratch to being able to train new hires.My previous experience as a Social Media Strategist Intern with MoonPads allowed me the opportunity to gain new skills not only with Digital Marketing but as a Data Analyst too. I created a dashboard in Grafana using PostgreSQL to analyze social media performance for the brand and make informed decisions to adjust and refine our social media strategy. This practice allowed engagement to increase by 200%!I'm actively expanding my skillset, and plant to continue learning SQL, Tableau, and ArcGIS Pro.
