In my position at Here, I specialize in community growth and user experience research for a video chatting and messaging technology startup. Here is a fun and quirky video hangout space to connect with friends, students, peers, and coworkers. I focus on user outreach and experience, iterating and experimenting with the optimal tactics to reach new user segments and provide feedback from users to inform product growth.

Prior to my master’s program, I developed and designed a digital brand and website, IRiS20, that fills a need in the market for LGBTQ+ news, history, and sex education for queer youth. I designed the user-interface for the website with Adobe Photoshop, Premier, and AfterEffects, Canva, and Wix software, creating a visually striking and easy-to-navigate platform for young people. Additionally, I tailored the content using data analytics tools on social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. I was able to traffic 900 unique visitors, employing SEO tactics to raise the website to the third search entry on the Google search engine. Additionally, I manage a small team of contributing writers and editors.Responsibilities include:· Created a platform for young LGBTQ+ people in addition to writing and editing over 20 articles· Designed the user-interface for the website (iris20.com) with 900 unique visitors since inception· Developed and maintained the social media brands with over 8,000 views in content on TikTok· Enhanced the SEO for the website to reach the third result on the Google search engine· Coordinated teams of contributing writers and editors using Microsoft Excel for planning and organization· Worked with Adobe Photoshop and Canva design software for social media posts
