I developed Australia’s #1 Australian Sign Language (Auslan) App on the Apple Store. AuslanToGo was an offline mobile dictionary based on the printed book; The Auslan Dictionary for Teachers, Parents and Professionals : 2012 Edition. It included over 2000 unique signs, each clearly illustrated in line art. Developed in Objective-C and native for iOS, the App was sold on the Apple store for 10 years with my ongoing maintenance and support. The application was also successfully developed into an Android application which was available in the Google Play store.

In addition to being responsible for implementing effective commercial and risk management processes within the telecommunications business, I led the successful pursuit for provision of construction phase services to the Google Data Centre project; one of only two Google facilities in Asia and the first in Taiwan. While supporting a number of other Data Centre projects, I was also the Project Manager for the planning and design tendering phases for the AU$1.8 billion Terminal 3 expansion of the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport; Including a new Terminal 3, Multi-Function Buildings, Energy center, Water treatment plant, Wastewater treatment and Water recycling plant. The project required considerable stakeholder engagement and development of the functional user requirements for a complete refresh of the ICT systems within the Airport.

I joined WSP-PB as a project manager and senior mechanical engineer and was appointed to the position of Utilities Government and Energy structural team lead shortly before an approved transfer to Taiwan. During my time in Australia I led a number of design projects with teams spread across geographical regions and was senior mechanical engineer for the final stages of construction of the AirportLink tunnel. My most significant experience came from being seconded to a mining client, supporting the management of off-site capital works for a new mine development located in Cloncurry Queensland. In this role I learned how to lead in uncertain environments, with constantly changing objectives and impacted by both internal and external stakeholders. The politics of a new mine development in a regional area and the sensitivities of managing relationships with local stakeholders led to many learning opportunities in persuasion, negotiation, and the importance of a calm mind and practicing patience.
