Co-Founder & Director of studio 8FOLD. Alexander studied architecture at the University of Cape Town, before completing his studies at the London School of Architecture in 2017 (as a founding member of the school), and registering as an architect in Berlin in 2018.Alexander first began practicing architecture with Alejandro Aravena at ELEMENTAL in Chile, and has since worked on a range of residential, commercial, public realm and non-profit projects across Europe, Africa and South America. This has led to a global understanding of architectural approaches, both in design & construction. With his love for teaching, Alexander also tutors regularly at the University of Nottingham. He was previously a tutor at the LSA, and still provides occasional guest lectures and mentoring as an LSA alumnus.Alexander’s academic interests fall at the intersection between archaic principles, psychology and the role of technology. Extensive experience in residential design, retrofitting existing buildings, and modern sustainable technologies gives him a unique approach to design.
