I'm a standards guy since the very start of my professional carrier in 1997. I read them, (participate to) create them, apply them, and extend them. Standards are like languages, they are living things, because people that use them have developing needs. My experience lies mostly in EDI messaging standards such as HL7 V2/V3/FHIR and Edifact, but also in the various techniques there are to communicate them, e.g. web services, FTP, MLLP, SNA/LU etc.I'm an active member of the HL7 community. Although most of my work is in The Netherlands, I've done implementations, demos, and proof of concepts in a number of other countries such as the UK (England and Northern Ireland), Belgium, France, and Saudi Arabia.Core competencies: Process and system analysis, data modelling, system integration.
