If I ever fail to find the right book for an eager reader, I will usually do more research at home and special order up to a dozen different options to review for the next time I see them. I love picture books about cats, robots, farts, dragons, tacos, and dragons who love tacos. Storytime is easily the best time of the week and my repertoire of funny voices grows with each new book. I can answer any question about Harry Potter and I still have regulars who try to stump me. They don't succeed.Throughout the eleven years of selling books I have more areas of literary expertise than I ever thought my brain could handle, often at the expense of remembering where my keys are. I organize my books and records at home for fun, so I'm still amazed I get paid to do it. I never get tired of finding the right book for the right kid and will often refuse to return a book to the vendor for months on end in the hope that it will be the book that makes someone truly fall in love with reading. I like to challenge myself to move 100 copies of a weird title in a single year and have succeeded multiple times to the point where Colin Meloy, the author of the Wildwood series, might owe me a burrito. -
