About Alex Johnson

I'm an outcome-oriented producer and an enthusiastic connector. I love to put in the work, travel and braintime necessary to develop creative restoration and conservation solutions and strong business partnerships. I'm lucky to have the opportunity to apply my early background in mature commodity trading/logistics and an economics education to working on groundbreaking, active environmental markets. Now deeply versed in the water space, I'm really interested growing the pace and scale of current programs, as well as seeing how corporate sustainability programs and carbon financing (and other sources) can begin to be more of a factor in regional/national watershed efforts.Current interests includes:• Regional resiliency via community-driven natural resource and housing solutions• Environmental markets for compliance (helping NPDES permittees with watershed solutions for Clean Water Act Compliance)• Trading program framework for quantifiable conservation results; utilizing modeled environmental outcomes to set and track towards ecological goals• Source water protection programs• Blends of traditional funding sources with innovative new financial models
