Dreams of working in the sports broadcasting industry are the reasons why I decided to become a student at the Colorado Media School. After starting school I have learned all of the steps it takes to make a sports talk show for radio. Not only am I learning to host and produce radio talk shows, I am learning to edit videos for television shows, shoot video for commercials and I am also working on my story writing for broadcast news. After starting school I was shocked by all of the elements that go into radio and television broadcasting. My Dreams of sports broadcasting started at a young age; I was and still am a huge Denver Broncos fan, when the Broncos won their first Championship. After they won I thought to myself that it would be exciting to be there to interview the players after they had just won the biggest event of their career. I wish I would have pursued a broadcasting career after high school but I didn’t and went into engineering. I studied engineering for about a year and a half, in Arizona, and decided it was not the career that I wanted to pursue. After I decided to not pursue a career in engineering I left Arizona and moved to Oregon where I worked in the restaurant industry for about 10 years. Working in the restaurant taught me how to manage my time and how to solve solutions in a timely manner. These are two skills that I am glad that I learned while working in the restaurant industry because I use them in my everyday life now. After spending 10 years in Oregon I decided to pursue my dream in the sports broadcasting industry by attending the Colorado Media School.
