QinetiQ Inc specializes in advanced sensor and system design, prototyping, and integration for a wide customer base. I work side-by-side with business development and program management as the acting Chief Engineer for concurrent, rapid prototyping programs of complex C5ISR systems. I directly interact with customers and senior leadership to develop system requirements, concepts, and architectures, then lead multi-disciplinary teams through various system R&D and prototyping phases by developing project plans, monitoring budgets and forecasts, providing technical guidance to the various technical teams, and serving as the key figure in the technical decision making process.

Advanced product research and development of novel electrical and optoelectronic devices for lighting applications. Key responsibilities ranged from initial conception and development to device or system prototyping and hand-off.

The primary focus was the development of the WaterChip which was a clean energy initiative for a low-power, ultra-portable desalination module for potable water where reverse-osmosis systems were not feasible. I was primarily tasked to prove the concept and develop the device and control system around it. COMSOL Multiphysics was utilized for the core device designs to determine the proper microfluidic flow characteristics which transitioned in the device microfabrication. Multiple fabrication techniques were explored including: laser machining/ablation, inductively coupled plasma processing, CNC machining/micromachining, thin film depositions, electrochemical processing.Beyond the device development, an automated fluid control system was developed. The overall electro-mechanical system included various valves, switches, actuators and relays for fluid routing as well as several sensors (pressure, conductivity, temperature, flow meters) for real-time data collection/monitoring, analysis, timing and algorithmic control and automation from the primary graphical user interface written in C/C++. Provided R&D and consulting services for industries including consumer products, biotechnologies, electronics, and utilities. The services ranged from technology proof-of-concept research to device prototyping and system controls development.

PhD. graduate research for Lab-on-Chip and displays devices based on the principles of electrowetting. I strived to fully understand ever aspect of the development process and implement every key component for each project. From the conceptual design and modeling, every device was fabricated using a wide array of microfabrication processes.
