Alexander Kacala is an experienced content creator and editor working in print and digital media since January, 2013. After a successful start at Philadelphia magazine, Alexander continued to write for various media outlets in the Philadelphia region including Philly.com and The Philadelphia Inquirer. In 2015, he relocated to South Florida, where he continued to work in LGBTQ focused media at Multimedia Platforms Worldwide. From there, he was promoted to Editor-in-Chief of Next magazine, New York's gay guide since 1993, bringing him to New York City. Since that move, Alexander has established himself in the New York City LGBTQ community as an authoritative voice on many topics such as arts, entertainment, nightlife, sexual health, dating, and travel. Beginning in late 2016, he worked as a Senior Editor at Hornet, the social media platform for gay men with an online magazine. In 2018, he acted as Deputy Editor at OUT magazine, helping oversee the execution of three print issues. That work included this year's OUT100, which was hailed by Pop Sugar as "the most powerful, diverse, and heroic list yet." Also this past year, Kacala worked as the Social Media Manager for NewFest, New York's annual LGBT film festival. Currently, Alexander is freelancing, contributing content to various media outlets including NBC News and NBC Out.
