Helped migrate manual assembly and quality control processes to an automated environment. Worked with various OEMs to specify, order, install, program and troubleshoot various liquid handling equipment. Composed and executed test procedures on new products, continuous improvement projects, and customer design requests. Designed and fabricated test fixtures and prototypes, wrote scripts to automate complex tests, and diagnosed problems with devices that were in development or were returned for service. Analyzed and presented test results with an eye on accuracy and repeatability, verification of client specifications/requirements, risk mitigation, and implications for future design changes.- Acted as primary (often sole) testing resource for the site’s ambitious new in-vitro-diagnostic device during the successful transfer from prototype to full production release.- Developed into the site’s primary liquid-handling performance analyzer and troubleshooter, in the absence of an experienced subject matter expert.- Became site power-user for inspection scopes, force/torque testers, digital profilometer, optical CMM, and Tecan’s proprietary control software application.- Currently concepting and prototyping stand-alone tube-routing guides as a personal initiative; R&D director approved project to move forward as a potential company product.

Contributed to the practice in a variety of capacities as mechanical engineer, CAD modeler/drafter, researcher, writer, client manager, and espresso machine technician. Responsibilities included engineering design and drafting, component specification and sourcing, standards compliance for facilities and commercial devices, FEA simulation, technical writing for reports and manuals.- Quickly adapted to projects in diverse fields, including semiconductor fabrication, circuit design, heavy machinery, infrared heating, energy standards, and IP and patent law.- Reverse-engineered OLED circuit design based on in-house testing and microscopy for patent infringement lawsuit against electronics manufacturing giants.- Helped productize near-infrared carbon-film heater for release in US; wrote user manual and worked with UL engineers and representatives for certification.

Designed, tested, and improved seat frames and mounts, primarily using plasma-cut and formed sheet metal, tubular steel, and welded and bolted assemblies. Collaborated on prototyping, design, manufacturing, assembly and field service, working closely with procurement, production, quality, and clients throughout. - Acted as primary engineering contact for Canadian manufacturer Nova Bus.- Created CAD models and layouts, project BOMs, and manufacturing drawings for multiple simultaneous projects with tight deadlines, often with limited supervision.- Without prompting, redesigned troublesome fully-welded frames as bolted assemblies with fastener concealers, better meeting customer requirements and significantly lowered costs by reducing the rejection rate and streamlining assembly.
