Director Of ResearchThe Laszlo Institute Of New Paradigm Research Apr 2018 - PresentTrieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyThe LINPR is an internationally renown global think tank dedicated to exploring and expanding the frontiers of science. It serves as a reference for investigators at the cutting edge of science to corroborate the legitimacy of their research and strengthen the validity claim of their work. In doing so, it invites and incorporates scientific considerations that bridge disciplinary and phenomenological domains not typically explored by classical mainstream science. The result is an institutional offering that grounds new domains of scientific inquiry in approaches that are verifiable (or at least open to testing and corroboration), repeatable, intellectually rigorous and academically robust. It seeks to reach as broad a public as possible by providing an integral lens through which to gain perspective on perennial insights from a variety of wisdom traditions that are amenable to scientific inquiry.

President, 2012-2013International Society For The Systems Sciences Jul 2011 - Jun 2014The International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS) is among the first and oldest organizations devoted to interdisciplinary inquiry into the nature of complex systems, and remains perhaps the most broadly inclusive. The Society was initially conceived in 1954 at the Stanford Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences by Ludwig von Bertalanffy, Kenneth Boulding, Ralph Gerard, and Anatol Rapoport. In collaboration with James Grier Miller, it was formally established as an affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 1956. Originally founded as the Society for General Systems Research, the society adopted its current name in 1988 to reflect its broadening scope. The initial purpose of the society was "to encourage the development of theoretical systems which are applicable to more than one of the traditional departments of knowledge," with the following principal aims:• to investigate the isomorphy of concepts, laws, and models in various fields, and to help in useful transfers from one field to another;• to encourage the development of adequate theoretical models in areas which lack them;• to eliminate the duplication of theoretical efforts in different fields; and• to promote the unity of science through improving the communication among specialists. In the intervening years, the ISSS has expanded its scope beyond purely theoretical and technical considerations to include the practical application of systems methodologies to problem solving. Even more importantly, it has provided a forum where scholars and practitioners from across the disciplinary spectrum, representing academic, business, government, and non-profit communities, can come together to share ideas and learn from one another. -
Director Of Doctoral Program Leadership And Systemic InnovationItba Jan 2015 - Jun 2018Buenos Aires, ArgentinaResponsible for setting the R&D+i (Research and Development plus innovation) focus in the Postgraduate School of ITBA. Research centers on questions of collective intelligence and its precursor, connective intelligence. The sense of community in South America differs from that found in much of the Northern Hemisphere, and local rituals and customs that emphasize common-unity have much to offer a world of increasing interdependence and intertwinglement. Exploration of the themes of systemic innovation, curating emergence for thrivability, and individual/collective self-determination may provide insight into the understanding of healthy and authentic community and the social systems design processes that can best foster them. -
