UPARC is a research lab studying the effects of park planning on the 50+ population in the Williamsburg Area. UPARC works to understand how placement, services, accessibility, information, and other aspects of parks affect the usage and impact of parks in relation to the citizens of the Greater Williamsburg Region. When I worked there, I analyzed the surveys put forth to the age 50+ residents of the Greater Williamsburg Region. My tasks involved recoding the data (into a form analyzable by the SPSS statistical software), running summary statistics, doing correlation analysis, and summarizing the results.

At Jon De, I did not hold a specific, set position but, as I only worked at the farm during the summer, I did whatever the farm needed at the time. This includes refitting the four pens of a barn with wider dividers and higher neck rails to hold larger cows, redoing the upper-story of a 150-year-old farm house that was used as an apartment, working with the newborn calves, and other various jobs.
