Alex is a venture capitalist with over 20 years investing experience in technology businesses. He is a venture partner at Isomer Capital accessing European technology investments through limited partner investments in funds as well as direct company investments. Alex co-founded the venture capital business that became Octopus Ventures in 2007. He led the business as CEO until 2017 and subsequently as Chairman until 2019. During this time Octopus Ventures established itself as one of the leading venture capital houses in Europe investing in and partnering with some of the UK and Europe’s most successful high growth technology businesses. With over £1bn under management and offices in London and New York. Alex led investments in Zoopla (IPO in 2014 and then sold to Silverlake), Graze (sold to Unilever), Calastone (sold to Carlyle) and Cazoo amongst others.
