As part of the Growing Food Connections project, headed by Dr. Samina Raja (from the University at Buffalo), I assisted in analyzing food systems across the United States and identifying communities where such gaps can be bridged.

As part of a series of studies headed by Dr. Teresa Quattrin and conducted in partnership between the University at Buffalo and Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo, I aided in the implementation and assessment of several programs aiming to enhance and evaluate educational approaches to preventing childhood obesity within Western New York.

To engage the local community and empower them to promote community health, I assisted in performing a community health assessment headed by Dr. Heather Orom (from the University at Buffalo) of a low-income community located in Buffalo. Following the health assessment, I was part of a team that disseminated the information learned from the study back to the community and engaged community members in taking further action to enact programs they desired.

As Ambassador at the University at Buffalo, I represented the School of Public Health and Health Professions and my own department, Community Health and Health Behavior, at national conferences, local health programs, and school recruiting events. Being Ambassador also provided me with the opportunity to connect with prospective students, help answer their questions, and assist them in networking with faculty and staff who have shared interests.
