Alexander is co founder and managing director of LANGBRETT GmbH, a sustainable outdoor brand which locally produces sustainable fashion and closed loop shoes. He is also co founder of GUPPYFRIEND Inc, a brand tackling the microplastic pollution problem. GUPPYFRIEND and LANGBRETT are specialized in eco-innovations. In 2016 Alexander initiated the non profit STOP! Micro Waste.He brings over 18 years of experience in the disciplines of innovation, design thinking, coaching and business strategy for start-ups and corporations alike. He holds a business and team-coach certificate of Neue Hamburger Schule and is a certified MPA expert. He teaches at Hasso Plattner Institute of Design Thinking in Potsdam, a partner institute of the d.school at Stanford University in California. As a mentor for Axel Springer’s Plug n’ Play accelerator and Startup Weekend, Alexander is also affiliated with the Berlin start-up scene. He is the founding partner of PCH INNOVATIONS. After 8 years as co founder and managing director, he left the company at the beginning of 2014. PCH is an Innovation Agency for Marketing, Engineering and Design with studios in Berlin and L.A. PCH analyzes current trends, identifies latent consumer needs and transfers learnings from other industries into prototypes, strategies, new business models, campaigns and future technology roadmaps.Prior to founding PCH, Alexander applied his skills to reignite the Volkswagen brand in the US by developing an unusual set of tools, exploring the American consumer and translating findings into strategic positioning, product features and vehicle concepts. For the Volkswagen Group, he developed sales and market entry strategies and implemented customer loyalty concepts for young drivers at Volkswagen’s headquarters in Germany which are still successfully running today. Alexander holds a degree in logistics and – with a full scholarship by Volkswagen – studied economics at the Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Lüneburg and the École Supérieure de Commerce in Grenoble, France.
