  • Ge Oil & Gas
Lead Mechanical Drilling Product Service Engineer
    Ge Oil & Gas Jun 2014 - Mar 2015
  • Ge Oil & Gas
Mechanical Engineer - Drilling Product Service
    Ge Oil & Gas Oct 2012 - Jun 2014
As a member of The Drilling Product Service Top Issues team, we addressed the most critical concerns that GE customer’s face when using complex drilling equipment. In this challenging, dynamic, technical and customer-facing role, I resolved urgent business issues, utilizing mechanical engineering principals (such as closed form hand calculations) as well as advanced technologies (e.g. FEA, CFD). I acted as an advocate for customers and an agent for product improvement. On a daily basis, I coordinated with experts and lead root cause analyses for drilling equipment: blow out preventers, hydraulic controls, diverters, risers and subsea connectors.
  • Ge Oil & Gas
Mechanical Engineer - Edison Engineering Development Program (Eedp)
    Ge Oil & Gas Jul 2010 - Oct 2012
    Schenectady, Ny, Us
Graduated from the EEDP technical leadership program, which consisted of working full time in 3 different areas of GE (See Rotations Below) while completing a full-time Masters Degree (MSME) program through Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as leadership trainings at GE Hubs in Houston, TX, Waukesha, WI and Crotonville, NY.Rotations:Rotation 1 - Advanced Technology Organization Test Lab, July 2010 - May 2011This Test-Lab Engineering position required facilitating testing for a New Product Introduction (NPI) project.- Managed an international team of engineers to design, test and troubleshoot a hydraulic actuator capable of simulating a casing hang-off weight of 4.5 million pounds.- Met an accelerated 8-month project cycle timeline, encompassing design, procurement, testing, and delivery to facilitate the testing plan for the NPI project. Rotation 2- Specialty Connector and Pipe Engineer, May 2011 - February 2012This ME position had responsibilities of (1) implementing DFSS practices to an NPI project and (2) providing analytic guidance and project management to an RCA project.- Utilized DFSS (Monte-Carlo simulation) in pipe connector component design calculations- Led an analysis team to do finite element analysis (FEA) to support a RCARotation 3 - BOP Stacks and Controls Engineer, February 2012 - October 2012The responsibilities of this design engineering role focused around blowout preventer electrical/hydraulic control pod part design and stress analysis.- Gained technical understanding of the multi-energy control system’s multifaceted operation- Provided detailed dimensional & functional checks of a complex face seal hydraulic manifold- Performed traditional stress calculations verified with finite element analysis through ANSYS Workbench (FEA)- Developed engineering methods for qualifying hydraulic manifolds in anticipation of increased subsea depth in product line requirements
  • Sunrise Ridge Algae Inc.
    Engineering Intern
Sunrise Ridge Algae Inc. May 2009 - Aug 2009
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Sunrise Ridge Algae, I worked with a small, Texas startup engaged in research, development and commercialization of aquatic biomass technology that aimed to reduce water & greenhouse gas pollutants while producing renewable fuel feed stocks. My role involved overseeing operations and monitoring nutrient levels in helio-reactors. I experimented and collaborated on the design process of the cooling system for helio-reactors. I also developed and implemented a relational database system for improved data logging and sharing.
  • Fluor
    Estimating Intern
    Fluor 2008 - 2009
At Flour, I worked as an estimating technician in the Project Proposal Group. While I was interning, Fluor planned to bid on a natural gas refinery. I analyzed preliminary drawings' bills of material to assist in building cost models on this project. Another project I focused on was a "plant component to man hour calculator". The revisions I made to the calculator required that I research the program (with the good fortune to be able to interview the original developer in person in Haarlem, Holland) and historical project data. The calculator correlated aspects of Fluor's historical data and allowed projections to be made for project bids.
