I am a Solution Focused, Strengths Based Executive Coach with 16+ years' experience of Recruiting, Training, Leading and Coaching large editorial teams.I received rigorous Executive Coaching training under the Reed Elsevier "Velocity Scheme", an intensive 16 month programme accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management and delivered by trainers from the Henley Business School. Through this programme I delivered 200+ hours of 1-to-1 Coaching to employees at all levels of the business. I also acted as a Coaching Supervisor and Mentor for subsequent Cadres of Coaches.Since leaving Reed Elsevier in 2016 I have undertaken specialist training in coaching for ADHD and executive functioning deficits by completing to Advanced Level the ADHD Coach Training Programme with ADDCA (the ADD Coach Academy). This is the only specialist training programme to be fully accredited by the ICF (International Coach Federation) and the PAAC (Professional Association of ADHD Coaches).I have lived experience of managing the uneven skill-set associated with Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD or ADD), a condition with which I was belatedly diagnosed aged 39, andam passionate about partnering with neuro-diverse individuals to find bespoke solutions which work for their "brain wiring" and allow them to better access their strengths.Approaching Executive Functioning from a coaching perspective often has both a functional and emotional component:Functionally core areas of difference/ deficit can include: Attention and Focus| Time Management | Task Initiation| Planning and Prioritisation| Decision Making| Memory | Organisation | Processing InformationEmotionally core areas of difference/ deficit can include: Hyperactivity | Procrastination | Distractibility| Impulsivity | Emotional Regulation | Regulating effort| Boredom and Motivation (along with specific anxiety resulting from the ongoing functional challenges).Challenges in executive functioning impact everyone to some extent but typically are more pronounced in individuals on the Autism Spectrum, or with ADHD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia : conditions which are frequently undiagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed. They are often exacerbated by stress, anxiety and accompanying mood disorders.
