Trademark ProcurementMy trademark practice includes clearing potential marks prior to substantial investment and advising best practices of usage and enforcement.Licensing and Government ContractsI assist clients in negotiating and interpreting IP contracts in both commercial and government contracts including navigating the FARS and DFARS clauses related to technical data rights.Due Diligence and OpinionsI regularly investigate target companies for pitfalls which may impact the value and enforceability of IP portfolios. I also clear patents and trademarks prior to seeking protection to safeguard client investments and to help manage infringement risk of competitor's IP. IP Enforcement and DefenseI participate in our enforcement and defense litigation teams, which both protect clients' IP rights from infringement and also protect our clients from faulty assertions of infringement. I have developed invalidity and non-infringement theories and served as the primary contact with our technical experts.I began my career as a chemical analyst at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, where I conducted research related to fiber optic-based photo-luminescent sensors and designed computer-based lab testing applications.
