Responsibilities: I worked several weeks for my local MP where I dealt with local constituents' issues as well as helping with his local charity Litter Angels where I would go round to local schools and warn about the dangers of littering. Experience gained: This gave me a valuable insight into the UK political process and how Westminster was run. Also, it has encouraged me to consider a role in the public sector. Skills:Teamwork- I learnt office skills and how to work effectively in a small team. Communication- how to communicate with office staff, local constituents as well communicating to young people about the dangers of littering.

Negotiation-These helped me get the maximum amount of donations towards the Kent Alumni Fund Teamwork- Being able to support each other as in a very small team and use each other's advice and help to achieve the best possible results.

During the summer I would help with the Summer Schools and be a good mentor to potential applicants. While as a Clearing Assistant I would take calls and help students through the Clearing Process.Skills:Communication- Improved these skills as I had to communicate with visitors as well as other ambassadors to ensure that the visits ran effectively and smoothy. Also, I would deliver presentations to visitors. And when I was on the phone I had to talk with prospective students from the UK and abroad. Leadership- As an experienced ambassador I would give guidance and leadership to those new ambassadors so that events would run as planned. Problem Solving- If a problem was encountered such as last minute schedule change then I would ensure that minimal disruption would be given to the visitors. Also, as a Summer School mentor any problems encountered, such as room issues, would be dealt with swiftly.
