My research focuses on the dynamics of complex fluids in general. I am working on phase-separation and evaporation phenomena using computer simulations. The simulation method we use is called lattice Boltzmann, a model based on microscopic physical ideas to obtain large scale hydrodynamics simulations.Additionally I am the editor of the computational physics section of Physical Review E. The computational physics section is special in that it publishes articles on either new computational methods or significant advances in existing methods for any physics application, even if this application would typically be handled by a different Physical Review journal.

Associate Editor For Physical Review EAmerican Physical Society (Aps Physics) Apr 2013 - PresentI edit the Computational Physics section of Physical Review E. -
Scientific Organizing CommitteeDsfd 2006 - PresentI am currently serving as the chairman for the annual Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics conference series (see http://dsfd.org). The conferences are a venue for researchers interested in the development and application of discrete simulation methods for fluid dynamics like lattice Boltzmann, lattice gas, dissipative particle dynamics, multiparticle collision dynamics, Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics. The conference location is rotating between the Americas, Asia and Europa.

Associate ProfessorNorth Dakota State University Aug 2002 - PresentI do research on complex fluids using the lattice Boltzmann method. I am currently interested in Phase-Separation fronts and fluctuating lattice Boltzmann. -
Postdoctoral Research AssociateUniversity Of Edinburgh Jan 2000 - Aug 2002I worked with Mike Cates on modeling complex fluids with lattice Boltzmann. In particular we worked on problems related to phase-separation, phase-ordering under shear, inertial effects on droplet break-up and developing Lees-Edwards boundary conditions for the lattice Boltzmann method. -
