At Platform Science I've worked as the Technical Lead designing, planning, and leading several projects. I've also worked with the Virtual Vehicle Hub team in general as a senior engineer to level up our processes and developer experience. I've worked on standardizing our formatting and linting practices, organizing and formalizing our micro-service release process, as well as expanding, updating, and solidifying our unit and integration testing plans for all of our services. I've really enjoyed working with the team to level up our standards and build the internal tools and documentation necessary to make our team a success.The first major project I lead was the authentication solution for our new web application. I leveraged past experience along with the legacy implementations to design and build out our new abstraction layer around our Auth0 integration. This was a great way to get a deep introduction into how the company works and contribute to how we want to build out the architecture of the system in general. I enjoyed getting a chance to do some project management, design, engineering, and people management throughout the project. The other major project I've lead is setting up a reusable system that we'll use to migrate data from external partners into our new Virtual Vehicle Hub system. Following a classic extract, transform, load (ETL) process we'll be able to quickly and safely guide partners in migrating their data into our system from any initial state. This has been another fun project to design and integrate with our primary partners to ensure that we're meeting their needs throughout the process. This project has included both some product and project management, as well as architectural design, client meetings, UI design, and engineering.

At moovel I've worked to learn as many of our systems as possible. I absolutely adore the freedom to explore systems and get my hands dirty in any of the code bases we use. From build engineering with ruby and fastlane, to Swift and Kotlin mobile development, to node backend services, I strive to help everywhere I can, pushing forward initiatives that help the company mature.I have also truly relished the opportunity to form connections between teams and departments as we create the apps that help people navigate their cities everyday. In the Advanced Javascript: React course at PDX code guild I learned the ins and outs of the React library and its uses in making blazing fast single page applications. We focused on ES6 syntax, test driven development, and project management throughout the course.For my final project I created a React frontend for my previous project: a web-based 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons character sheet manager. My favorite part of the course was the focus TDD, which made both development and ensuring stability a breeze.Since the end of the course, I have been writing apps using React Native. While definitely it's own animal, the transition to the mobile side has been relatively straightforward and I am excited to keep exploring more.

I graduated from the Python Full Stack Developer Boot Camp at PDX Code Guild with distinction.Throughout the course we focused heavily on Python. From simple statements to functions to classes, we explored so much of what the language had to offer. I am always eager to continue learning more whether it is about networking, neural networks, or the power Python has to drive major businesses. I strongly believe that its simplicity of use and open sourced nature of the language will continue to propel it as a top choice for companies and developers into the future.The final project in the class was a web app driven by Python and Django. As a credit officer I bought contracts from a book of auto dealers in Eastern Washington. I spent time building connections with my dealers in order to gain new business. I also worked on underwriting the contracts they sent to me to ensure that the customer, dealership, and our company benefited. In the year that I had approval to underwrite loans from Reliable Credit, I underwrote over $1.25m in personal loans and nearly $1m in auto retail installment contracts.I was also tasked with debt collection on high default personal loans. I always worked to empathize with and find solutions to customers' most pressing issues. This ensured that their accounts returned to good standing and moved forward with the least pain possible. As a last resort, I would assign accounts for repossession and work with repossession agents to find vehicles, including skip tracing and follow up calls.Additionally, I still handled day to day customer service calls and in person meetings at our branch office. I would constantly strive to give the best customer service possible by accurately and thoroughly explaining information, maintaining low wait times, and empathizing with customers.I was tasked with interfacing with our departments outsourced collections agency for accounts that had gone farther past due than we were able to service. This included batching weekly reports of new accounts to them, as well as clarifying when there were discrepancies or other issues.Finally, I was tasked with handling bankruptcy claims for my department. This included composing bankruptcy documents and working with attorneys to get them signed, filing claims directly with bankruptcy courts both electronically and physically, as well as updating our system with pertinent information and following up on claims.

I was given a company van to drive and meet with the semi-truck delivery drivers and help them to unload, check in inventory, organize, stock, and reface product in stores, handling between 100 to 150 cases per hour.Additionally, I created and managed invoices, and received payment handling cash and checks, counting and preparing them for turn in to main office. I was promoted in my first week from mail opener to office assistant for quickly picking up on the tasks presented and showing more excitement and aptitude for bigger projects.
